Sign in safely and reset your password
Who this is for: everyone who signs in to Liitora with a Liitora password.
Before you start: your phone with an authenticator app, for example Microsoft Authenticator, Google Authenticator or FreeOTP.
Liitora can reach your company’s business systems, so a password alone is not enough. Each time you sign in, Liitora also asks for a second step: a 6 digit code from your authenticator app, a passkey, or a recovery code.
Set up the second step the first time you sign in
Section titled “Set up the second step the first time you sign in”- Sign in with your email and password.
- On Set up your authenticator app, open the app on your phone and scan the code on the screen. If you can’t scan it, select Unable to scan? and type the key into the app instead.
- Type the 6 digit code the app shows into One-time code.
- Type a Device name, for example “Work phone”, so you can tell your devices apart later.
- Select Submit.
- On Save your recovery codes, select Print, Download or Copy, and keep the codes somewhere safe, such as your password manager.
- Tick I have saved these codes somewhere safe and select Complete setup.
You see the recovery codes only once. Each code works once.
Section titled “Sign in”- Type your email and password and select Sign in.
- Type the 6 digit code from your authenticator app and select Sign in.
If the code is refused, check that the time on your phone is set automatically, then type the newest code.
Use a passkey or a recovery code instead
Section titled “Use a passkey or a recovery code instead”- After your password, select Use another method.
- Select Passkey or Recovery code.
- For a passkey, confirm on your device. For a recovery code, type the code Liitora asks for, for example code number 1.
Add a passkey or security key
Section titled “Add a passkey or security key”A passkey is a sign-in key kept on your phone, computer or a security key. You unlock it with your fingerprint, face or PIN.
- Open Settings.
- Select Profile in the sidebar.
- Under Signing in, select Add a passkey or security key.
- Select Register and follow your device’s prompt.
You come back to your profile when it is done. Next time, choose Passkey under Use another method.
Get new recovery codes
Section titled “Get new recovery codes”Get new codes when you have used most of them, or if someone may have seen them.
- Open Settings and select Profile.
- Under Signing in, select Get new recovery codes.
- Save the new codes, tick I have saved these codes somewhere safe and select Complete setup.
The new codes replace your old ones.
Reset your password
Section titled “Reset your password”- On the sign-in page, select Forgot your password?.
- Type your email and select Submit. Liitora sends a link to that address if it has an account for it. The page says the same either way, so nobody can use it to find out who has an account.
- Open the link in the email.
- Type a code from your authenticator app, or use a passkey or a recovery code.
- Type your new password twice and select Submit.
The link alone can’t change your password. The second step keeps your account safe even if someone else can read your email. Your authenticator app, passkeys and recovery codes stay as they were.
If you have lost your phone and your recovery codes, contact Liitora support. We check that it is you before we remove the old second step, so you can set up a new one.
